PGI Information

Welcome to the Personal Globe Inventory. If you'd like to find out more about the PGI before getting started, please explore documentation below. We'll hide this information next time you log in, but you can always access it on the PGI Information page.

How does PGI Work? Identify interests, majors, and occupations

The Personal Globe Inventory (PGI) is an interest inventory that assesses interests and competence perceptions of people aged 14 and older and then matches these to occupations and academic majors. It has received extensive psychometric support which is summarized in the manual. The PGI will ask you to rate your liking and competence in a wide variety of activities. From these ratings you will be given a series of profiles of your scores on some basic interest scales and information on how your scores compare to others.

Data and Privacy Your data is private and never published.

If you wish to take the PGI, please click the questionnaire buttons below. Your participation is voluntary and you can stop at any time. Your responses are anonymous in that no identifying information will be collected but you should be aware that web addresses are not entirely secure. Your scores will be saved so that you can access them in the future and so that we may be able to look at group characteristics of the instrument. There will be no examination or publication of individual responses, only group responses.

Questionnaire Instructions Complete both questionnaires to view results.

There are two sections to the PGI: one where you are asked how much you like various activities and another where you are asked how competent you are at various activities. The like questionnaire is first and the competence questionnaire is second. You need to complete both sections in order to obtain results.

Each questionnaire set will present you with activities that you will be asked to score on a scale of 1 - 7.
